The lexical field of Art takes up among its fundamentals the notion of the artist’s universe, so why would we take the risk of launching the presentation of Lise Stoufflet’s work by such a customary term?

Because Lise’s universe is irresistible, unmistakable, fatal.  She takes us into a strangely singular world whose disturbing beauty cannot leave us indifferent.

Her paintings intrigue and question. So what has happened? She herself says she doesn’t know and seems to sincerely doubt that she is the author and instigator.
