Outstanding recreation – With steel and bright colors, Alice Nikolaeva, a young Russian artist graduated from Beaux Art de Paris, is getting us into an easy-going and reckless world. Barbecue, ceramic sausage, steel ice-cream cone, upright swimming pool or drawing of impracticable playground are the elements that Alice Nikolaeva wonders and handles to divert our focus.
Steel is her stomping ground. She cuts, bends, welds, sands, forms and assembles pieces to lighten the burden of the steel. Shapes contrasts smoothly. The sculptures of Alice Nikolaeva are three dimensional drawings which define an autonomous space frozen by the stiffness of the steel.
